Just because the California Supreme Court has ruled that Gays have a legal right to be Gay, does not make it OK. Being gay is immoral. Being Gay is wrong. No court in the land can overturn the fact that being Gay is a sin against the Law of God. The California Supreme Court has done us all a dis-service by pronouncing immoral acts as legal in California. God will not permit this to long continue. I am very sorrowful and dismayed at the action of the court, to act outside its jurisprudence, not to mention outside its jurisdiction. Sin is wrong, and no court or King or body of people can change the Law of God.

"California has repudiated past practices and policies that were based on a once common viewpoint that denigrated the general character and morals of gay individuals, and at one time even characterized homosexuality as a mental illness rather than as simply one of the numerous variables of our common and diverse humanity. This state’s current policies and conduct regarding homosexuality recognize that gay individuals are entitled to the same legal rights and the same respect and dignity afforded all other individuals and are protected from discrimination on the basis of their sexual orientation, and, more specifically, recognize that gay individuals are fully capable of entering into the kind of loving and enduring committed relationships that may serve as the foundation of a family and of responsibly caring for and raising children. ... we now similarly recognize that an individual’s homosexual orientation is not a constitutionally legitimate basis for withholding or restricting the individual’s legal rights."

Yes, if you're weird call yourself diverse, whatever makes you feel better, just as calling yourself a progressive instead of a lib is a candy coated word. Stop the nonsense, you're weird, get over it. I think once a man has had his way with my rear end, my dignity has gone out the window.

With all due respect to your religion "Eddy or Karen", you are forgetting that the Law of God you speak of is not always the God others speak of, believe in, etc. Your assumption, that your way is the right way - and the only way - implies that you see our country best fit to be ruled with one God's laws in mind. If you were in one of the many countries that use the basis of their religions to make women subservient, non voting underlings, would you not stand up and say you have the right as a human? Or if the God you spoke of was unable to be worshiped by law, would you still worship him? My point is not to disturb or discredit your opinions but, to remind you we live in a country were we are founded on freedom alone. The laws we used as structure came from God but, as time went on and other religions and races came to this country, religion is now ONLY in the eye of the beholder. Forcing you opinions and beliefs on someone is inhumane as far as I'm concerned. We are not asking for your approval nor your blessing, we just want our rights the same way you do. If your concern is truly for our after life or the judgment we are to face from God, then let us hold that worry in us. According to the bible, all will stand before him on judgment whether you are gay, a liar, a cheat, or have passed judgment on a gay person or any person for that matter, it all is a sin. Frankly it is not your business how, why or if we love someone - and the tone of disgust you use, seems to proclaim the desire to not be compassionate and care about our eternal lives, as a Christian should, but instead to control us. My experience with those who discriminate or pass judgment are those who have problems they are afraid to face making it easier to focus and points on others. "Let your women keep silent in the churches" Maybe the Apostle Paul had it right.  Your religion, which you want to use to take away my right to marry the partner of my choice, could also be used to take away every right women have won in this country over the last 200 years.  You would again become the property of your husband.  He could beat you, imprison you, starve you, all but kill you, and no one would have anything to say about it. Maybe that's how it should be, in your mind?  Perhaps you would feel that is right? Like all bible thumpers, you cherry-pick your religion to suit your bigotry.  You have the right to think for yourself now.  Try it sometime.

This is a historic day for the people of the U.S.A. We are finally getting up to speed with the rest of the modern world. Unfortunately there is still a "class" of people in the U.S. who don't believe in science and hate people for being different thus they oppose gay marriage. This is the same "class" of people who would have opposed inter-racial marriage being made legal some 50 plus years ago. Wake up people! There is no gay agenda and gay people are not out to convert your children. Gay people just want the same respect as everyone else. If you don't like gay people please don't watch Will & Grace, buy new clothing, perfume, cosmetics, eat at high end restaurants, watch mainstream movies, or involve yourself with anything to do with art, culture and sophistication as gay people have their hand in all of the above! :-) If you want to live in an intolerant society then please, by all means, let me help you prepare for your move to Iraq or Afghanistan! Peace! T.M.H.

What the f has science got to do with being a homosexual? Here is a science lesson and proven fact, man mates with woman, there, that was so simple you can understand it can't you? If you want the same respect learn which organ goes where and does what....talk about a science failure! It is not being different that bothers me, it's being wrong, learn to breed, your thing doesn't belong in the back of the man bus. DUH!

Theres a very good reason Church and State are separate, so the the opinions expressed by the first poster aren't made into law. There is no objective basis for believing in the God of the Bible/Torah/Qu'ran. Its a personal believe based on faith based on the writings of men from millenia ago that shouldn't be used to justify restrictions on the freedoms of individuals in a secular state in the 21st century. There has never been nor will there ever be a valid public policy reason to oppose gay marriage. As a man there is nothing to prevent me from marrying a woman and continuing to enjoy the benefits, both personal and fiscal, that the state of CA provides. If you want to keep Gays out of your Church, you're free to do so but as long as the state grants marriage licenses, this ruling was just and necessary.

No matter what you choose to believe, the truth is still the truth. A HOLY GOD created the universe and all living things. He created man in his image, male and female He created them. When people decide to reject that truth, they are handed over to their unnatural lusts and desires. And they will receive in their bodies the due penalty. Just as God poured out His judgement of this vial sin of homosexuality thousands of years ago, so will He pour out His judgement again. When the so-called judges of the supreme court exalt themselves over the moral laws of God, they bring judgement against themselves. My God is a God of Love and He layed down His life as the ultimate sacrifice for ALL SINNERS, not just homosexuals, but liars, thieves, adulterers, murderers, etc..., BUT, HE IS HOLY, and He will not allow sin to continue. He will NOT allow sin in Heaven once this world has been destroyed by the wrath of God to come. WAKE UP PEOPLE! Repent before it's too late. Watch what happens in california now......

Did you know that it is also listed as a SIN in the bible to wear different kinds of fabrics at the same time? I would imagine at this very second you are wearing clothing that is a blend of cotton, maybe a synthetic fabric, leather, etc?

There is little evidence of the involvement of a higher power in the creation of the universe, certainly no evidence that Christian Mythology is true in the literal sense. You're taking the Cultural biases, based in stories created to explain the world in a more primitive time and applying it as fact when there is no rationale reason to do this. I assume CA will go on as it always has, just like MA. Seriously, get out of the dark ages. And homosexuality is natural. Its been observed in multiple species and marriage and the right to marry have never had biological procreation as a determinative requirement. Bigotry is bigotry, even if dressed up in "religion"

Amen, I couldn't have said it better. Religion has nothing to do with this. I was raised Catholic and I believe gay or straight, any two consenting adults that want to be married should have the legal right to do so. I'm tired of reading comments about what the bible says about gays being sinners...Doesn't the bible also say, "Judge not lest ye be judged"??? Or do you "conveniently" forget that since it doesn't align with your beliefs? Homosexuality is innate. I didn't choose to be heterosexual. That's just the way I was born. Why is it so difficult to believe it happens the opposite way also?

Hey Trouble, guess what? Calling people the anti-Christ for being Catholic is kind on like using a certain racial slur. I didn't know you were so prejudiced! So, are the programs you are screaming for open to everyone but Catholics? Yikes! Let me call the ACLU.

IM NOT SAYING ALL CATHOLICS. I ACTUALLY ATTEND A CATHOLIC CHURCH AND HAVE BEEN GETTING MORE OUT OF IT THAN EVER BEFORE! THE ANTI-CHRIST IS HERE IT SAYS THINGS OF THIS NATURE WOULD BE TAKING PLACE. FAR AS RIGHTS THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR RIGHTS OF THEIR CHOICE WE WERE AND ARE FIGHTING FOR OUR RIGHTS AND WE DID'NT HAVE A CHOICE. AS A AFRICAN AMERICAN, COLORED,BLACK,N%$#ER OR WHAT EVER THEY FELT AT THE TIME BOY,SPADE,COON DID'NT ASK TO BE HERE AND NO ONE IS FIGHTING TO MAKE SURE WE GET TREATED FAIRLY. WE HAVE NOT BEEN PAYED AS OTHER NATIONALITIES AND THEY CAME AND TOOK OUR LAND HERE NOT IN AFRICA(I CAN SPEAK FOR MY FAMILY). JUST SWEEP IT UNDER THE RUG FOR CHRIST SAKE WE ARE KILLING EACH OTHER BY THE DROBES AND NO SUPREME COURT IS LOOKING INTO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT. WE ARE NOT MOLESTING CHILDREN BY MIS-LEADING THEM.

I think you should print this page out and show it to the priest you trust at that church. While the Catholic church does not approve of homosexuality, they also do not approve of hate and stupidity. So you are saying that gay people have a choice! Are you sure? Did you choose to be heterosexual, or was there a time in your life when you struggled with the decision and decided on being straight? Your level of ignorance on this subject is epic. And just for info, the courts can deal with all manner of issues and it doesn't always have to be a black thing. I'm guessing you're mad at the Supreme Court for ruling that US currency is unfair to blind people. Damned blind people getting in the way of the real issue - that being how unfair the world is to the brother man !

Yes Im saying they have a choice and no I never struggled with which hole to go in. Deeds of a hero, they can but don't and anyone who has stood up for us has been knocked down what a coincidence! Being blind and rubbing sticks are two totally different things. Unfair does not even scratch the surface!

Four fat-cat judges trump the votes of ten million Californians. Obviously we do not have a government for the people in this state. The Constitutional amendment next fall will fix that. What we also need is another amendment to return government to be of the people and by the people. Change the constitution to require a jury at every action of every court. A jury of twelve of US would have made a better judgment. What about the legislators who allowed this situation by their cowardice? These fools haven’t had the guts to make the tough choices necessary in years. Limit their authority so they are only an advisory body. They can propose legislation and WE can vote yes or no by telephone or internet and OUR way of government will prevail!
