OAKLAND — A Richmond father of three who was shot Tuesday while he was buying lunch at an East Oakland taco truck, has died, police said.
The victim, Abel Martinez Mejia, 41, died at 1:40 a.m. today at Highland Hospital. Police said the robber and three accomplices did not get any money from Mejia, a metal company truck driver who may have been shot out of spite."This was an innocent victim in every sense of the word," said Sgt. Tony Jones. "All he was doing was buying lunch and the next thing he is shot by some cold-blooded coward."
