I find it outrageous that the horrendous crime commited against this woman is not being treated as a "hate crime". What other explanation is there when a woman is shot in the face as she walks down a street with her 3 yr. old toddler? The fact that she was wearing the headscarf accustomed by Muslim women made her stand out in the Glenmoor neighborhood. I formerly lived 2 blocks from where the murder occurred, and I'm well aware of the demographics of the area. My heart goes out to the Ansari family.

It is sad that there is still one person in this country that believes their race or culture is the ruling one. We have been here since 1684, but realize America is what it is because of the contributions of transplants from elsewhere. Hey, get over it! Remember the saying of the 60's? If you're not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

But it does not amaze me at all(If indeed it was a hate crime)! This is a country, that has never treated others fair! And would not be where it is with out other people!

Saying that both writer's would be right for their views about the the murder of Ms. Ansari. then you think about the "old" saying of the 60's, and we're hoping to get around it, correct? I initially thought that her murder would be considered as a heinous hate crime, where a person just walk up to a person and assassinates her in front of her child. However, I am not the government, I do not make the laws! My opinion is this: Regardless, of how back in time a person's family history goes and their contribution to this country, and how it the contributors made this country what it is today on their strength, that it would allow another to murder an innocent woman for no apparent reason. I feel this crime should be considered as a "hate crime" because of Ms. Ansari wearing her "customary" head wear. I see young girls-young wearing them at the local public school daily...it is a beautiful thing to see..young girls being taught early about self respect and keeping their culture and heritage alive. All other children are "not" taught to disrespect those young girls! Some where I am feeling that our ancestors did not contribute blood, sweat and tears for the new generation of people to go out and be cowards and take the lives of other innocent people because they are different from themselves. God Bless The Ansari Family
