TO: Secretary, Berkeley Peace and Justice Commission

This letter is in response to the following article from CNN: http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/02/07/berkeley.protests/index.html

Dear Mr. Secretary,

I am not only shocked but offended that your commission would utilize the people's money in such an irresponsible way by wasting time discussing and actually going so far as condoning the protest of a recruiting station. It'd be much easier to hold up a sign that says "I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH PREVENTING THE SPREAD OF ISLAMIC JIHAD AND DEATH TO ALL AMERICANS JEWS AND OTHER SO-CALLED 'INFIDELS' ACCORDING TO EXTREME HOLY MUSLIM PERSPECTIVE"

The cities place is not to meddle in federal matters, let alone military matters. The likes of which the city has NO QUALIFICATIONS to address.

It would be more beneficial to the people of whom your commission represents to spend your time and money addressing issues in the community in which you have an actual impact.

Berkeley is so close to some of the most UNPEACEFUL and UNJUST communities in California let alone these UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. So, for starters, it would be wise of the commission to address the following issues that your city can impact: Poverty, Homelessness, Joblessness, Hunger, Education, HIV / AIDS and other disease prevention, Sexual & violent content in media that our children are exposed to (advertisements, TV shows, etc.), corruption and misuse of city and state funds.

Once your commission addresses these issues if it finds that there are adequate funds and time available, then address issues that do not concern your spoiled little city that we fight for.

Oh, and when one of the extreme Islamic Jihadist threaten your peacefulness...go ahead and call on us because that is what we KILL and are KILLED for!

Best regards and warmest wishes,
