Religion and State are separate for good reason. Just because the California Supreme Court ruled that Gays have a right to be Gay, does not make it OK. Being gay is immoral. Being Gay is wrong. No court in the land can overturn the fact that being Gay is a sin. The California Supreme Court has done us all a dis-service by proclaiming immoral acts as legal in California. God will not permit this to long continue. I am very sorrowful and dismayed at the action of the court, to act outside its jurisprudence, not to mention outside its jurisdiction.

In keeping with the spirit of this decision, I believe that the people of Nancy Nadel's district 3 want a divorce from her immediately. We can finalize our relationship with her on June 3rd. Our new partner will be Sean Sullivan!!!!!!
As Nancy Reagan has said privately, "JUST SAY NO TO NANCY NADEL."

All you doomsayers must be really unhappy to take your dissatisfaction with life out on these poor families who just want to be treated equally. They're not asking you to give them wedding presents. Just let them see their sick loved ones in the hospital, stop paying more than their fair share of taxes, give security to their children, and walk down the street without fear. If you're so keen to stone somebody, move to Afghanistan. Otherwise read the constitution (for a change) and uphold it.

I applaud your rebuttal and thank you for looking out for families as a whole, gay or straight. I think people forget this is a movement of love, that’s all.
After reading the above/below blogs I noticed a common thread on those who oppose gay marriage... They are angry, you can hear it the way their words are written, well... either that or they are bored and just have to control something different then them. Our country is a country of variety and differences; we are that melting pot of every color in the world. Now, how the heck do these right winged people believe that in a place with hundreds of different types of languages, races, religions and beliefs, they can use their power to force their religious convictions on us? I'm sorry but, do equality movements, civil rights or discrimination laws mean anything to you? Or are we just going to sit around in a stagnant country that refuses to grow and change for the better?
PS: Isn’t there a war going on? Sorry, I forgot, I’ve fighting for permission to love my wife instead of focusing on the safety of our nation. Wake up and prioritize people – please.

As I recall, Propositions 22 passed by a considerable margin in the election booth. Propositions 22 expressed the will of the majority of the people of California. Now a group of highly enlightened (appointed, not elected) judges are telling the people of this state that they know better. Our legislature has not seen fit to act on this issue and they have failed us and now, the initiative process has also failed us again. I recall a California Supreme Court Justice named Rose Bird who had strong feelings about our death penalty. She no longer decorates the bench. Perhaps it’s time for some new judges. We have had a number of propositions that have come under fire from this elite group which causes me to wonder, why are the people always wrong and these appointed, not elected individuals right?

Marriage is between Man & a Women Gayriage is between two people of the same sex Mule is a cross between a horse and a donkey A horse is a horse A donkey is a Donkey A Mule is a Mule A marriage is a marriage A Gayriege is a Gayrige What does this have to do with equal rights ? A Horse may not like to be called a Donkey A Donkey may not like to be called a Horse. A Man & Women may not like there sacred relationship referred to as a Gayriege A Women & Women may not like there sacred relationship referred to a Mariage
Please don't re define a Man, women, donkey, horse, Mule, Gayrige Mariage. All people institutions & Animals should have there right to separate and reflect there own diversity as a Animal or Human or legal sacred relationship name
What has this to do with equal rights?

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude but, what is a Gayridge? I'm a little confused on what your point is exactly, especially when you are comparing our unions (gay or straight) to donkeys and horses.

Spoken like a true stoner. Is your only concern whether you can get baked? Guess what, I don't give a damn about whether you smoke weed, but please do not let it cloud your every decision. You only lend credence to the concern of many that smoking weed makes you stupid! Anyway, I am ashamed of the stuff I am reading here. Really, we are concerned about our mortal souls and whether we are "right with God" because two people who love one another want equal rights. There is no question in my mind that this decision is right and maybe those who are thumping their bibles can make an effort to deal with the real evil in this world. Come to Oakland, there is plenty of evil to deal with here!

Here's the ironic thing, all of these hateful people who are ranting about the courts usurping "their" rights and "their" vote want to subvert the rights and votes of gay people and their families and their friends that help make up this great state of ours, this huge, great country of ours. YOU DONT GET TO DECIDE IF I GET MARRIED! You just don't because I don't believe I was asked to vote on whether heterosexuals had a right to get married and divorced...and re-married..and divorced and married again and divorced again (good job with that whole sancitiy of marrriage thing). It's not about your vote or your claim to marriage, it's about human beings being respected as human beings and being afforded the same rights as non-homosexual citizens. I wonder if these same people would be okay with gay people and their familes and friends refusing to contribute their payroll taxes, property taxes and the like to a government that regards them as less than people. Thank god for the courts for standing on the side of righteousness and humanity as they did during the civil rights era. You know, if it were up to the poeple voting, Jim Crow laws and school segregation probably would have been a part of our culture many years after the 1960s rulings. Sometimes PEOPLE have to be forced into decency by a legislative and judicial body that exists solely to protect human rights, civil rights and property rights. That is their role. Their role IS NOT to placate religious and personal bigotry. And dont even get me started on the hollering about what's in the bible - there's lots in the bible, people seem to do fairly well ignoring the inconvenient stuff, but its easy to grasp on to some delusion about the sin of homosexuality. Homosexuality is mentioned in exactly the same verse that speaks against the wearing blended cottons and eating shellfish. So all of you who wear clothes and eat shellfish are headed to hell with the awful, awful gay people. GET OVER IT! Time is moving on and old racism and prejudices are being replaced by resason and logic - look out you keepers of the ridiculous.
