I commend the Tribune for running this article about the premiere of another important documentary about the many ways votes get stolen and disenfranchised in today's so-called American style democracy. The Tribune stands out in front on coverage of the issue of voting fraud in California. I commend Ian Hoffman for his fine work. This is one of the premiere issues facing citizens of our country --trying to sustain a democracy and educating Americans who are cynical and in denial, as to the importance of their vote and maintaining voting integrity. Voting fraud is not just electronic manipulation, it's illegal purges of voting roles, displacing voting machines in precincts where there is heavy voter turnout and disenfranching voters of certain ethnicities and races for political gain by Republicans in office.Â
Little known to most Americans is that most if not all the European countries of the world have paper ballots. It doesn't matter how long it takes to get your vote counted. What matters is that your vote does get counted and that of everyone else. We are the only nation with political partistans and representatives of one political party owning secret technology and having access to and counting our votes in secret with no public access. It's an untenable and unthinkable situation. But how did it come about?Â
