I just love these lines Councilwoman Jane Brunner comes up with and then repeats ad nauseaum to every one she meets for the next coupla years.  It's like she has to memorize her responses which she repeats over and over like a robot.  She can never come up with anything new.  Her new husband was mugged she tells everyone for the past year, her son was robbed, Sen.  Perata was carjacked and now a young boy was killed.  And you know what she says?  The same darn thing she said almost a year ago verbatim:  "It's the worse it's been in 40 years".Gee North Oaklanders, is this whom and what you want to re-elect?  A robotic councilwoman?  And her other line, I hope the Police Chief is recruiting.  Gee, does she every talk to the City Administrator, t he police chief's boss?  Or possibly the Mayor who has the power to fire incompetent department heads? Jane Brunner can attack and get things done in a flash when it affects her livelihood and pocketbook and self interest.   Then, you've never seen a person fight so hard and move so flash.  But when her family and community are in danger?  It's a time to pontificate and a topic to schmooze with her consitutency on, "Gee, I've never seen things so bad". 

Keep on schmoozin' Jane, it's what you specialize in.  And to the community which enables her schmoozin ways, guess you'll just have to keep on suckin it up folks.
