It is clear that we have a choice in Tuesday election, as a 1950 Baby I remember the Kennedy days, I'm a former Mayor.
Honestly I voted for George W and believe 8 years  have been all about self interest and a misguided domestic and international compass.
I wrote our President & VP and expressed that even with the reaction & post reaction to Katrina that our goverment has failed to support our citizens. 2 years latter New Orleans Fire Stations are operating out of Fema type trailors?
To the Bay Area, Oakland, California, I'm ready for a change and will vote for Obama.

Hey guys!!
Just to get straight to the point, would anyone tell me why a high proportion of people refer to Barack Obama as "Black" ; "....if elected, he will be the first black US President..." as far as I am concerned He was born to a "black" father and a "white" mother, therefore he is a "mixed race" or as the old fashionned people would say, "half cast"
Therefore when people refer to him simply as black, what happens to his half white background and values? Or his mother is no longer regarded as white anymore!!!
Either way I think the man has got what it takes to be the world's strongest leader and I hope he will succeed with the help of all americans including the whole world. And if he fails, should this happen, please do not blame the races.
