I am just responding to the article written by Tom B. on whether or not Ray Guy should be voted into the hall of fame. I have no doubt that his stats on Baugh and Van Brocklin are correct and certainly show that they were better punters than Ray Guy. However that does not mean that he should not be voted in. Growing up watching and playing football some players receive awards for their outstanding play regardless of their position. I know we are not talking about high school football here. This is the Hall of Fame. The best of the best. In my opinion he should be voted in, because he proved for the time he played he was the best and should be mentioned among the best to play the game. The Hall of Fame has the best players, coaches and owners, but I did not realize you had to play a certain position to make it to Canton. Maybe we've never heard of a game winning punt, but a good punt could possibly put the team in a good position to win. That is just as valuable. I HOPE RAY GUY MAKES IT BECAUSE HE DESERVES IT!!!
